Hello Alternatorman, wanting to boil water outside of a normal car situation. I want to take out the diodes and rectifier and attach a heat coil such as you find in an electric kettle. How fast can these things rev and would it be a good idea to put more wire in the stator?

I'm not sure exactly what your application is. You don't need to take the diodes completely out, you just need to attach lines directly to the stator leads that attach to the bridge rectifier. Proceed with caution though, as this is live AC and has the potential to severely injure or even kill you.
