Have a 462 MEL engine in a 66 Lincoln, which I'm restoring. Is there a newer style alternator that I can use on this car? It uses lots of power when operating the convertible top. Would like to use a 140-170 amp rated one if possible?
Thanks.

A 3G style large case alternator is what you're looking for, we have one on our website at http://alternatorparts.com/Ford_3G.htm . The large case 160 amp alternator with the heavy duty rectifier produces a lot of power and is incredibly reliable, the perfect fit for your Lincoln.
